Sharita Siregar, MD
Sharita Siregar, MD is one of the ophthalmologists in JEC Eye Hospital. She was graduated her medical doctor from Medical Faculty University of Indonesia in 2007 and as an ophthalmologist from the same institution as well in 2012.
She joined Jakarta Eye Center right after she graduated and accomplished her cornea, cataract and refractive surgery fellowship at Jakarta Eye Center in 2012.
Work in the field of Corneal, External eye disease, Cataract and Refractive Surgery
As a full time ophthalmologist in JEC, her interest and clinical works include general ophthalmologist, cataract surgery with several types of intraocular lens (IOL) implantation such as monofocal; multifocal; toric; trifocal lens, secondary IOL implantation, Refractive procedure such as Phakic IOL for high myopia and high astigmatism, a certified Implantable contact lens (ICL) surgeon, LASIK, LASEK, PRK, PTK, presby LASIK, LASIK Xtra and managing cornea problems such as keratoconus which sometimes can be treated using Cross linking (CXL), corneal tattoo for permanent corneal opacity in nonfunctional eye and other cornea problems such as infective keratitis, cornea dystrophy and also cornea degeneration that can be treated with corneal transplant. She already certified for corneal transplantation such as Penetrating Keratoplasty (PK), Deep Anterior Lamellar Keratoplasty (DALK) and Descemets Stripping Automated Keratoplasty (DSAEK). She is also specialized and certified as a surgeon for iris management such as iris suture or iris implantation.
Education and Research
Sharita Siregar has completed full fellowship for Corneal and External Eye Disease in Singapore National Eye Centre/SNEC from 2015 to 2016. She also did Corneal and Cataract Refractive Surgery Observership in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore in 2013, She was certified for LASIK surgeon in 2012 and Corneal transplant surgeon in 2013.
She also well known and active in every ophthalmology meeting. She is the past secretary and currently is the Head of Young Ophthalmologist in Indonesian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (INASCRS). She is also a member of world cornea society, European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). She was the speaker for her research in Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) in 2011, Asia Pacific Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in 2012 and 2016, and was pointed as a moderator for ESCRS meeting Milan in 2012.
