Howard Palte, MD
Dr. Palte is a Professor of Anesthesiology and serves as Director of Regional Anesthesia at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the # 1 rated eye hospital in the US. He is a Past President of the United States Ophthalmic Anesthesia Society. His chief interests include ophthalmic, regional and ambulatory anesthesia. He is widely published on subjects such as ultrasound and anesthesia safety. His porcine research elucidated the possibility of fatal venous air embolism during the air-fluid exchange phase of vitrectomy. He often lectures at anesthesia conferences and symposia around the globe. Finally, he is actively involved in resident education and OR management, particularly the smooth integration of electronic medical record systems in OR workflows.
