Muhammad Mukhtar, MD
Dr Mukhtar working as Clinical assistant professor UCD, and Consultant Anaesthesiologist at Royal Victoria Eye & Ear Hospital and St. Vincents University hospital Dublin.
He is graduated from Nishtar medical college Multan, Pakistan in 1992. He came to Ireland in 1996 and completed both basic and higher specialist training in Ireland.
He did post fellowship advanced training in Paediatrics in both Dublin paediatric hospitals.
He also undertook one year diploma in management for medical doctors by Royal college of Surgeons Ireland and Institute of public admission Dublin in 2004-2005.
Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, heart and lung transplant at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K.
He was awarded MSC in Medical Professionalism by College of Anaesthetists Ireland and University College Dublin in 2009.
He established a first Live demonstration of Orbital block course in affiliation with the college of Anaesthesiologists in 2009. This course, the first of its kind in Ireland, is now a regular fixture on the Academic calendar.
Also this course is mandatory for Ophthalmology trainees to attend during their programme in order to achieve their certificates of completion of specialist training.
He is a founder member and director of the course.
He has special interests in Regional Anaesthesia, Thoracic Anaesthesia, paediatric Anaesthesia, Regional Ophthalmic techniquesand medical audits.
