Rupesh Agrawal, MD
Dr. Rupesh Agrawal is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at National Healthcare Group Eye Institute, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. After completing his medical studies and training, he has been actively involved in significant translational and basic science research projects. Awarded the National Medical Research Council Scholarship by Ministry of Health, Singapore, Dr Rupesh completed his research training fellowship on retinal imaging using flow dynamics at University College London. He has also worked alongside Mr Carlos Pavesio in department of Uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital. His areas of interest are ocular inflammatory disorders including cytokines, ocular tuberculosis and HIV, ocular trauma, ocular nanotechnology, blood corpuscular abnormalities in context of microvascular disorders and choroidal imaging. He is the lead investigator for several multicentre collaborative studies, such as COTS, CVI, IGATES and OASIS. In 2011, he was conferred with the Healthcare Humanity Award by the President of Singapore and recently in 2018, he received President Volunteerism Philanthropy Award (PVPA) for adult individual category for his humanitarian and pro bono projects. He currently serves as advisor for numerous nonprofit organisations and involved heavily in charity projects across Asia.
